Canada’s Food-Link Fund opens applications for food distribution infrastructure
The intake is scheduled from 14 October to 11 December 2026. The C$1 billion fund supports wholesale food terminals and regional food hubs. Applicants submit an expression of interest before selected projects are invited to make full proposals.

Canada’s Food-Link Fund application intake is scheduled to run from 14 October to 11 December 2026, according to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s 5 October announcement. The C$1 billion fund targets infrastructure that connects food producers with markets.
Two routes for distribution projects
The Food Terminal Fund supports wholesale food terminals. The Food Hub Program covers regional hubs, with potential investments in storage, processing, transport, packaging and other distribution capacity. The department says the aim is to strengthen competition and connections between producers and buyers.
Expression of interest first
Applicants first submit an expression of interest. Those whose projects align with the fund’s objectives may then be invited to submit a full proposal. The intake does not guarantee an award or an immediate reduction in grocery prices. Prospective applicants should consult the department’s official program information for eligibility and submission requirements.
