Bodum recalls 5.9 million French presses over glass breakage risk
CPSC says damaged glass can break during use. Bodum is offering a stirring spoon and warning label.

CPSC announced the U.S. recall on 29 October 2026 after reports that damaged or cracked glass carafes could break during use, causing serious burns.
Check the model
The affected 8-cup and 12-cup models are Bistro, Brazil, Caffettiera, Chambord, Crema, Java, Jesper and Kenya with replaceable glass carafes.
Follow the stated remedy
Stop stirring with metal utensils immediately. Do not use cracked or damaged carafes. Contact Bodum for the plastic stirring spoon and warning label described in recall 27-055. The announced remedy is repair, rather than an automatic refund.
