Apple brings touch to MacBook Pro with new PROLED XDR display
Apple announced 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with touchscreen displays and M5 Pro or M5 Max chips, starting at $2,899 in the US.

Apple has unveiled redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with a touchscreen and a new PROLED XDR display, bringing touch input to the Mac for the first time. The company announced the laptops on October 28, with M5 Pro or M5 Max chips and US prices starting at $2,899.
Display and controls
The screen uses tandem OLED technology. Apple says it can reach up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR and SDR brightness and offers a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz. Touch input lets users interact directly with content, including music and creative applications. Dynamic Island also comes to the Mac for activities and controls; some features depend on software availability and settings.
Configurations offer up to 128GB of unified memory and 16TB of storage. Apple claims up to 24 hours of battery life under its testing conditions; actual use will vary with configuration and workload.
US price and availability
The 14-inch model with M5 Pro starts at $2,899 in the United States, while the 16-inch model starts at $3,399. Apple opened pre-orders on October 28 in 30 countries and regions, including the US, and says deliveries and store availability begin November 6. Prices and availability elsewhere may differ.
