Lithonia recalls about 11,532 RSX outdoor lights over falling-fixture risk
Certain adjustable mounting arms can break and let the light fall. The company will arrange a free professional repair; owners are told to keep clear of the area underneath.

Owners of certain Lithonia Lighting RSX outdoor lights are being told to stay clear of the area directly underneath them after a recall over mounting arms that can break. About 11,532 fixtures are covered by the October 22 recall announced through the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The problem is in the knuckle of certain adjustable tilt-arm mountings. If it fails, the luminaire can fall from the arm, creating a risk of serious impact injuries. The recall concerns commercial outdoor lighting, rather than every light sold under the Lithonia name.
Which mounting arms are affected
The notice identifies four mounting types: AASP, AARP, AAWB and AAWSC. These attach RSX luminaires to square poles, round poles, wall brackets or wall brackets with surface-mounted conduit boxes.
The affected manufacturing periods are August 2019 through July 2020 and August 2024 through April 2026. Lithonia asks customers to contact the company to confirm whether their particular luminaire and adjustable mounting arm are included.
| Mounting code | Mounting type shown in the notice |
|---|---|
| AASP | Square-pole mount |
| AARP | Round-pole mount |
| AAWB | Wall bracket |
| AAWSC | Wall bracket with conduit box |
Free repair arranged by the company
The stated remedy is a repair. Customers should keep clear of the area directly beneath the luminaire and contact Lithonia Lighting to schedule it. The company will arrange for a qualified professional to replace the recalled mount with a complete new adjustable-arm assembly.
The notice does not direct customers to remove the fixture themselves. For confirmation and repair arrangements, Lithonia can be reached at 855-307-2454, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time. Its website also has a “Recalls” link at the bottom of the page.
Reports and sales covered by the notice
The firm received 13 reports of adjustable mounting arms breaking, including four reports of fixtures falling. No injuries had been reported in the recall announcement; that statement describes the information available in the notice.
The lights were sold through commercial distributors nationwide, including Turtle & Hughes and Consolidated Electrical Distributors, from August 2019 through August 2026 for between $400 and $2,200. That sales window is distinct from the two manufacturing periods used to describe the affected arms. The CPSC recall reference is 27-041.
